Welcome to the Neural Net. We have grown a bit, changed our name from COGINT to SYNAPPSYS, and added new key capabilities. Our team of affiliates and partners is also growing. Life is good, we have a broadening range of clients and the future seems bright.

- A look at some of the old and new tools in the strategy toolkit – we will compare and contrast and are looking for your insights and experiences.
- The evolving employment market place and the role of a growing cadre of self employed executive level professional intellectual capital for hire that we call Executive SuperTemps.
- A look at what executive level consulting really costs relative to full time employees.
- Some thoughts about large program capture planning and how it all seems to go so wrong for many teams.
- Our thoughts on proposal planning and execution, particularly as it relates to the highly proscriptive and onerous “Smart Procurement” process currently used in Canada.
- We will write about Change Management – a field that is not well understood in a number of industries but that is increasingly critical to successful transitions of many types.
- Occasionally we might write about the sorry state of Canadian Government procurement with emphasis of the embarrassing situation at DND with large capital projects.
How is SYNAPPSYS different?
COGINT sowed the seeds for growth. It was time for a change and we are very pleased to now offer real in-house depth and experience in the area of Change Management. Nicolette Frosst leads this area, bringing a tremendous amount of experience and years of client satisfaction to the team – see our About Us section for more.
Our classic strategy, business growth and planning and large program capture/proposal services all create conditions for growth and change and thus demand that our clients very carefully assess the implications of change and plan accordingly. This often looks easy – it isn’t and frequently new projects and initiatives get off to a rocky start for the lack of proper up front analysis and planning.
We have added new content on our website and connecting with a growing group of partners and affiliates. We are excited about our growing affiliations with partners and other consultancies and service providers. This is fueling the creation of a group of Executive SuperTemps, an approach to executive support that capitalizes on sweeping changes in the workplace. We will release details in a series of Blog articles later this year.
Why “SYNAPPSYS” ?
We like the new name – it is, of course, a play on “synapses”, those critical flexible connections deep in your brain than make us conscious, aware and intelligent. We are all about making connections, about SYNergy, APPlicaiton of proven methodologies and SYStematic approaches to problem solving and planning.
