Vision and Innovation

Visions and innovation do not come out of off-site group hug sessions.

Consultants cannot tell you what your vision is, though many claim to be able to do this.

Visions and true innovation typically appear in a moment of restful contemplation; in the shower, on the edge of sleep, while reading an inspirational article or while working on another task.  Your brain continues to process in the background, searching for new connections and insights. It is rare for classical Strategic Panning to produce a viable business vision.  Vision comes first, strategic planning comes later.

“If a consultant offers to schedule a group session to identify your corporate vision, back away slowly and don’t look directly into his eyes.”

The fertile soil that enables visions to grow is informed by deep and dispassionate understanding of your business, your market, your competitive landscape, untapped markets, customer behaviour and the undercurrents of cultural and technological change.  This is not strategic planning, although it is often confused as such.

We can help you do the homework, sow the seeds that enable your vision to grow and mature.  We have tools and techniques that are designed to remove emotional commitment to the past and present and enable you to take a starkly objective view of your company, your markets and the potential that surrounds you.

You are the visionary – we will help you to unlock the doors.
